Biodiesel Plants
- Iowa ranks second in biodiesel production nationwide.
- In 2006, Iowa produced 138.5 million gallons of biodiesel.
- Iowa alone accounted for more than 25 percent of the entire U.S. biodiesel production.
- Iowa has 13 biodiesel plants in operation, producing approximately 258 million gallons per year. Three of those plants are currently expanding capacity. And 16 new biodiesel plants are under construction.
